In the educational project ‘All aboard!’ at the Vasa Museum we develop new museum teaching techniques.

’All aboard!’ is an educational room within the Vasa Museum. It provides a total experience for all senses. It even allows children to experience how to steer the Vasa.
We work closely with other central agencies, local authorities, county museums and county councils throughout the country, as well as national and international organizations.
We seek out new inroads by means of pilot projects. Within the archaeological area we develop investigation methodology and maritime heritage management. An example from the present is our involvement in developing the so-called ’Dalarö model’ within Nordic Blue Parks, which aims at increasing accessibility to cultural-historical environments under water and spreading knowledge about them, without damage to the original area.
We collaborate in Baltic Sea research through Heritage Cooperation in the Baltic Sea States, a platform for international collaboration aimed at preserving the coastal culture and maritime heritage of the Baltic Sea region.
Within our museums we constantly renew exhibition media. An integral part of our various exhibition projects is cooperation with design experts and research institutes in order to achieve creative methods of exhibiting, revitalizing our educational section and increasing accessibility to our museums.
